Happy Chinese New Year!

Or Happy Lunar New Year, whatever you prefer.

It's the year of the Dragon - oh yay, that means I turn 48 this year. I am, of course, thrilled. This puts me that much closer to that coveted AARP membership.

I have to apologize for not visiting some of your blogs recently. Our wonderful satellite internet provider has determined that we're overusing bandwidth and has downgraded our internet speed to that comparable to dial-up. And by "wonderful" I mean some choice four-letter words that I can't write here since this blog is rated G.

In order to get our speed back, we have to cut our bandwidth use down for a month. Even if we didn't have to cut our bandwidth use down, it is next to impossible to load pretty much any blog using dial-up speed...especially the blogs that have BIG gorgeous photos (you know who you are). I'm only keeping up with my blog posts mostly by doing them whenever I get to go somewhere (like our public library) where I can get free Wi-Fi and scheduling them to post for future dates.

Some happy new year indeed.

On the bright side, hubby roasted a 5-spice duck for dinner and it was most excellent!

Will you do anything fun for the Lunar New Year? Did you even know it was the Lunar New Year?  ;)

You're the second person I know who's had satellite problems. On my front, facebook has blocked me from adding friends because too many of them have not responded to my requests in the last six months. My bad for knowing so many people. I told them my crystal ball wasn't working so there was no way that I could know who will not respond to my friend requests. They didn't respond. :P

Stace, I'm so glad that some of your ducks survived! And thanks for poo-ing my internet provider. ;D

Robin, you are total social butterfly! LOL! I'm trying to keep my friends number low on FB since I really want to keep up with everyone. Plus, now with my internet being slow and my bandwidth limited, I can't even do FB on my computer anymore. It's a bear doing it with the FB app on the iPhone.

How do I "like" Stacy's comment?

We had leftovers for chinese new year, and as you know, greek food to celebrate chinese new year. That's cuz we're so multicultural, yeah that's it.

Monica, the Greek meal sounds pretty terrific! You're multicultural or dad's not on the ball enough about making reservations at Chinese restaurants. ;)

The Gods must be angry because our internet connection is crap too. I hope things start working again for you soon, I know that dial-up experience can be frustrating.

BTW/when is your birthday? Email me!

I only knew it was the Lunar New Year because you told me the last time you visited my blog!

But my hubby knew! He has travelled to China often for work, and mentioned it to me as well.

The duck sounds awesome!

I hate having to mess with internet providers. It's such a headache.

Happy Chinese New Year to you! I made bacon fried rice for my daughter's Chinese class. Very tasty
