Cool weather

You can smell autumn. Some of the nights have been wonderful to sleep in because it's been cooler. Fortunately, the chickens haven't slacked off in their laying yet; guess they've been getting enough daylight.

We'll need to cull 3 of the roosters in a couple of weeks. Two of them may be tough old stewers. The Black Australorpes keep chasing them and they never seem to get enough to eat. The one in the tractor with the younger roosters will probably be a tender thing, good for frying, since it hangs out by itself and stuffs its face any time it wants. I just hope I can remember what we learned at J&R's regarding eviscerating.
