Wine can be bad for your health...

...when you drop a heavy bottle of it on a part of your body.

Our dear friend, J, sent us a fantastic bottle of wine all the way from Santa Inez (as a thank you for helping them pack when they moved...isn't that the rub: helping your best friends in town move across the country from you...).

Here is the very fine bottle of Chardonnay from Gainey Vineyards:Here is my very fine bruise after the Force of Gravity introduced said bottle of wine to my kneeTo those of you who come here often enough to observe that I seem to injure my extremeties a lot, I have to say: you're right. I am a total klutz.

ow! Well, at least you have a bottle of wine to help with the pain...that is one nasty looking bruise though.

Ouch! I agree with Stace - the wine will ease away that ache. :)

Oh no, a bottle of Chardonnay wont' help the bruising. I'd go with a Merlot for that. At least it'd be the same colour as the bruise.

Poor dear, hope your bruise goes away soon. Are you chanelling Mary by some chance?

Yes but did you spill the wine? ;-)

That bruise looks very sore - look after yourself!

Now go and have a glass of wine....

Hugs Teresa - I hope the bruise heals fast. Did the wine help any? How did it taste, I love a good Chardonney.

I can agree, not only am I a total klutz, but I have three large dogs that seem to help in the process!

Hi Teresa!

Thank you for your blog...I really enjoy checking in every now and then. I have to say you have made me laugh more times than any other person on any other blog. The fact that you keep injuring yourself...then I see you gave yourself a giveaway! It reminds me so much of me! Ha!

Have a wonderful Friday!!

My sympathy...from one klutz to another.

Thanks, all, for the sympathy! It really is like I'm going through my teen growing-pains years again. Sheesh!

Michelle, wow, thanks...I'm blushing! I'm really not that funny in person; at least my dh and kids don't think so. ;D

Teresa that's awful! Your supposed to DRINK the wine...not beat yourself up with it. :)

I hope you feel better soon and that the wine tastes as good as it bruises!

Carrie, I had the same thought in the shower: that I was happy it's been too cold to wear shorts. :}

Marr, LOL! Yeah, gives a whole new meaning to abusing oneself with wine, doesn't it?

And yes, the wine was really, really good!

Oh no! I did something similar a few weeks ago w/ a heavy duty cookie sheet on my toe! Hope the wine is good & thank you SO MUCH for mentioning the Happiness Project blog in your comments - it is AWESOME!

I have read the comments and not seen the answer anywhere, so I'm going to ask: Was the bottle full or empty when it made contact with your knee? :)

Hope you're not sore today.

I think you've proven Artistotle wrong (your sig line). Happiness depends on not dropping bottles of wine on yourself.
