The blossoms make the entire downstairs smell wonderful. Red-headed woodpeckers have been coming close to the house too. My camera can't zoom close enough, but this is a close up of image I took (hence the fuzzy and grainy-ness of it). They are spectacular birds, so vibrantly colored.

You can see why I don't have time to get anything else done. *sigh* But, this will be it for a while. Sorry, everyone, but I think I need a blogging break. I hope you'll all have a lovely next few weeks. And if you need to contact me, please feel free to send me email or find me on FB or Twitter (although I'll be cutting time on those too).

What growing zone are you in Teresa? I bet those citrus trees smell really good.
We have wood peckers around here but none that pretty. I love his pretty little red head :)
I've wanted citrus trees for so long...but there never is enough room IN the house for them! Lol
~I hear ya on the blogging break, I get so much more done if I just stay off the computer. Enjoy spring/life!:)
thanks for including vegetable art for visiting.
Cheers!
I like the cute little bird! Even if he is noisy...
Michelle, we're in 5B (or 6, if you use the new system, dh tells me), but we're growing the citrus trees inside, if that's what you're asking. :) Red-headed woodpeckers are one of my favorites. It's funny because red-bellied woodpeckers also have "red hair" but only the red-headed has the red all over the entire head. And it's a truer red than the red-bellied.
Elizabeth, we simply love the fresh fruits we get from it, so if you could find the room for them, you'll be happy you did!
Susan, you're welcome!
Blonde Duck, he's not too bad; it's the downy woodpeckers that are a pain because they keep trying to poke holes in our cedar siding. ;P
Oh Spring is so lovely!! Especially around your area!
This is so weird, I was just reading about growing citrus trees inside. Then yesterday, my daughter and I were planning which ones would be good to have and where to put them. How coincidental is that!
OK - it's one thing when you cut out your blogging time, but NOW I'm not going to be hearing from you on FB, either? You need to give your stalkers a little more time to prepare!!
I love the photo of the woodpecker. Spring is my favorite time of year. Have a wonderful weekend!
I love the woodpecker pic. I posted a magpie pic to Flickr - I think it's in my blog sidebar. Do you have magpies in the US?
I understand the need for a break - it does take time to keep it all going. My blog posting is sporadic at best these days and I am woefully behind reading my fave blogs :(
Have a good rest and come back refreshed! We love your blog!
D'oh, I missed Little Shadow Creations comment: You too...have a lovely spring! :)
Michelle, spring is wonderful in our area; unfortunately, we only get about one week of it, then it's straight into summer. Darn!
Maureen, I hope you guys will go for the citrus trees! when they do well, it is such a joy to have your own fresh fruits.
Firefly Mom, as you may have noticed, I'm still hanging out a bit too much on FB. Need to wean myself. ;D
Cascia, thank you - and good luck on your pregnancy!
Diane, the bloggy love is mutual! and I replied to you on FB. :)
I love such small things that make our days lovely and nice. Kind of fills your batteries for some not so lovely day, doesn't it - with that positive energy in the air?
Have a good break!! You can catch up when you get back!!
Thanks for your citrus trees, you have given me another plant to grow for its lovely scent!! :)
See you soon! Alli
I've been on a bit of an internet break myself. I am just too overwhelmed with everything right now to keep up anymore! But I'm still reading. I just can't seem to think straight enough to leave regular comments anywhere. :(
Oh I would just faint straight away if I saw woodpecker like that. I too have been considering a blogging break. Be well and I'll keep checking back for you, my new friend!
Minka, you're right! It's nice to hold on to the glow of the lovely days to help one through the more dreary ones.
Alli, I hope you will grow some - they are really some of our best indoor plants (they do make a mess though, with the spent blossoms and falling leaves)!
Amber, do take it easy and I hope you'll feel more yourself soon!
Tutta, thank you! I appreciate your support. Aside from the pileated, the red-headed is one of my favorite woodpeckers. :)
Woodpeckers here are yellow and green. Isn't that wild?
There really is nothing like the smell of citrus blooming. Nothing like it in the world.
Also, thanks for the shout out.
Enjoy your break! I may steal a page from your book and do the same.
xx
Do you grow your citrus trees indoors or are you in the right climate for outside? Either way, the fragrance is like nothing else in this world. Someday I'll attempt to grow indoors during the long, cold NY winters!
